Nope. You aren’t living in a Back to the Future movie. There is such thing as a hoverboard.
Although, if you are expecting to be floating above the ground while you ride it you have another thing coming.
They are just scooters, albeit without the handles.
Today, I am going to talk to you about one of the most popular ones on the market, and one which is being touted as the fastest hoverboard on the market; The Gyroor F1 Racing Hoverboard.

Summary
If you are looking for a quality hoverboard which is packed with features but is unlikely to break the bank, then you aren’t going to go wrong with the Gyroor F1 Racing Hoverboard.
It is one of the fastest on the market, and while it is unlikely that you are going to be enamoured with all of the features packed into the board, you are going to have a serious amount of fun riding it.
The maximum speed of the Gyroor F1 racing hoverboard
The maximum speed that you will be able to travel on this hoverboard will be 10 miles per hour.
I know it doesn’t really seem like a lot, not when you compare it to actual electric scooters, but I promise you that you really do not want to be going faster than 10 miles per hour on a hoverboard.
Remember; you do not have any handles, which means that you are going to be sacrificing some of the control that you have over the board.
If you are travelling at more than 10 miles per hour, you are going to be rocking all over the place and the board is just going to be unsafe to ride.
Is it the fastest hoverboard on the market? Well, sort-of. I have seen hoverboards as being quoted as having a faster speed than this.
However, the only way that they are ever going to hit the speeds that they are quoting is if they are in absolute perfect conditions. Since nothing is perfect, you are never going to hit those speeds.
The Gyroor is fairly reliable, though. You should be able to hit the maximum speed that it quotes more often than not.
If you do want to get a little bit more out of your battery or, if you are like most people, you find that travelling at 10 miles per hour is a little bit too fast on a hoverboard, you will be pleased to know that you have full control over the speed.
Go at the speed that you want to, and build it up again if you are getting used to it. I don’t think there are that many hoverboards which afford you this much control over the way that you travel.
Most of them will allow you to select between a couple of pre-sets and that is it.
Racing sound
This is something which I don’t think I am a fan of. In fact, it seems a little bit over the top.
There is a small button on then hoverboard which you can flick. When you flick it, it will pump sound out of the speakers which will make your hoverboard sound like an F1 racing car.
I can’t imagine what possessed the team at Gyroor to add this sound to the hoverboard, but it exists.
If you are an adult, then you are probably going to have it flicked off the vast majority of the time, but if you are buying it for a kid, then they are probably going to enjoy it for the first couple of days.
To be honest, I could be wrong about this being a feature which people seem to love.
Every single features list I have read bleats about this being some amazing feature, and every review I have read seems to say the same thing, but I really can’t imagine that there are that many people out there who want an awesome racing sound built into their hoverboard.
If it is something that you are going to love, then awesome for you. This is one of only a few scooters on the market which actually has it.
All-terrain ride
Now we are back to the features that people actually care about. The Gyroor F1 Racing Hoverboard has 8.5” tires backed up by a whopping 800-watt engine. This means that it is easily going to tackle anything that you throw at it.
The vast majority of hoverboards on the market are going to be good for paved road use at the most. I have seen some that struggle with that, mostly due to poor design decisions.
That isn’t something that you are going to need to worry about with the Gyroor at all. Oh no. You can go over paved roads (at the 10 miles per hour that I quoted before), or you can tackle steep hills, muddy terrain, and even a few rocks here and there.
Obviously, if you are going to be doing a lot of off-roading, you may find that a hoverboard is not really for you due to the inherent lack of control that you have over it, but it is fantastic if you want to take a short-cut to work on occasion.
I do want to point out that if you are going to be travelling over terrain that isn’t a paved surface, then the overall speed of the hoverboard is going to fall quite drastically.
You may be able to pull about 5 or 6 miles per hour at the most.
This is, obviously, because the hoverboard now needs to put in a lot more effort trying to keep you upright while going over the terrain.
That being said, I think that this is one of the fastest hoverboards on the market if you are planning to do a little bit of off-road travelling.
I don’t think I have seen another one which even comes close to the speed that this baby can travel over a bit of mud.
Range
Interestingly, unlike most hoverboards, Gyroor do not seem to quote an average range for their hoverboard.
I think this is mostly down to the fact that due to it being used in a variety of different situations, people are going to be riding it in slightly unique ways.
However, after testing it for a little bit, I reckon that in most cases you should be able to get 9 or 10 miles out of it before it needs to be charged.
You may get a little bit less if you are off-roading, but I don’t think it is going to fall that much unless you are on the heavier side of things (the maximum weight this hoverboard is able to handle is 260 pounds).
Battery quality and charge time
Again, not something that Gyroor seems to talk about a lot. I think that this is so that they can swap out the batteries if they are able to get a better deal.
Generally speaking, no matter what version of the hoverboard you end up with, I doubt that it is going to take more than 4 hours to charge, with the charge time coming in a bit less than that in most cases.
This means that if you are using it to commute to work, no matter what happens, it will be fully charged by the time you leave.
The current quoted charge time is around 2 hours. The great thing is that the battery is fully removable.
So, if you want to pick up an extra battery or two, you will be able to have a far greater range. The batteries are not that heavy, so you can just toss them into your backpack and away you go.
The quality of these batteries is fairly high, which means that they should be kicking around and giving you a lot of use for the next few years without needing to be replaced.
However, do bear in mind that the more you charge the batteries, the lower their lifespan is. If you are charging them multiple times per day, it is unlikely that your
Changeable LED headlights
Originally, this seemed to be a rather pointless feature for me.
However, once I started tinkering about with it, and got to see the wealth of colours that the LED headlights were able to pump out, I had a ton of fun.
You will need to use an app for this, but you have full control over the LED headlight colour. They are surprisingly bright too, which means that a bit of night riding is probably not going to be out of the question (although, make sure that you stay safe!)
Control
I found that I had a decent amount of control over the Gyroor. I don’t know if you have ridden one of the cheap hoverboards before, but you often find that you are rocking all over the place as the hoverboard tries (and invariably fails) to level you out quickly.
I never really had that issue with the Gyroor. It gave me a smooth ride each and every time. When I was riding over a bit of uneven terrain, there was a couple of hiccups.
This is to be expected, because the hoverboard does need time to react to it being thrown out of sync a little bit. I never really felt like I was going to fall off.
When I changed the speed in the app, the Gyroor was incredibly responsive, and I slowed down right away. Normally when I am riding, there is a bit of input lag, so I was pleased to see that the F1 Racing Hoverboard had not fallen into this trap.
Security features
If somebody tries to move your board, your app will tell you. That is the extent of the security features, so you will probably want to consider leaving it locked up, because this is not something that will prevent it being stolen.
Too much reliance on the App
This is where I think I have the most issues with the Gyroor F1 Racing Hoverboard. It places too much of reliance on the app. If you want to control the speed, you need an app.
If you want to have the security features of the hoverboard in place, you are going to need to use the app.
Basically, this hoverboard is not functional unless you have a smart device connected to it.
Now, I know that the majority of us do have phones and the like. This means that it shouldn’t really be a huge problem to need to use it while we are riding.
However, do bear in mind that you will need to have your phone in your hand at all times, which means that it could end up getting damaged if you get into a crash with your hoverboard or something.
I just wish that there was more of a way to control what you are doing from the board directly. I understand why this isn’t the case, but it would be great if Gyroor could innovate a little bit.
Who is the Gyroor F1 racing hoverboard for?
I would say that this hoverboard is likely for somebody who just wants to have a little bit of fun riding around, perhaps doing a bit of off-roading on occasion.
Yeah, there are probably a few people out there who will want to ride this to work, and that is perfectly fine.
However, I feel as if Gyroor were developing this hoverboard mostly for the ‘fun’ market. Afterall, you have those realistic racing sounds and adjustable light colours.
That being said, if you are after a quality hoverboard for any situation, then I don’t think that you are going to be going far wrong with this baby.
It is an amazing hoverboard, and the price (for what you are getting) is not even that high. I wouldn’t say it is a bargain, but you could be doing a lot worse with your money.
